Zimbabwean man returned from South Africa to find wife in bed with a Baptist Church pastor
A Zimbabwean man returned from South Africa to find his wife in bed with a Baptist Church pastor.
The injiva, Mr Sikhosana Khumbulani (32) from Insukamini Growth Point, allegedly caught his wife, Ms Nomazulu Mathonsi, being intimate with the pastor, Mr Christopher Zinomwe Ndebele of Insukamini Baptist Church.
Mr Khumbulani had arrived from his base in South Africa unexpectedly when he caught the two love birds red-handed about two weeks ago.
In an interview yesterday, Mr Khumbulani said he reported the adultery case at Chief Bunina’s Court.
He said Pastor Ndebele’s wife would be the other chief witness when the matter is heard tomorrow.
“The matter has been set for Thursday and pastor Ndebele’s wife will be the other witness as she witnessed the incident. Besides, she was aware that her husband was going out with my wife for quite some time,” he said.
Mr Khumbulani said pastor Ndebele’s wife was part of the huge crowd that rushed to his house when he caught the alleged promiscuous pastor in his bedroom.
“She even went on to attack her husband who was still naked when she arrived. Many Insukamini Business Centre residents can bear witness to this case as the majority of them caught a glimpse of the naked pastor Ndebele on that day,” he said.
Meanwhile, sources within the Baptist Church told Chronicle yesterday that pastor Ndebele has been suspended from leading the Insukamini congregation following the embarrassing incident.
They said pastor Ndebele was suspended to allow investigations into the matter to go on undisturbed.
“If he is found guilty, he will be demoted from his position ,” said a source within the church.
Pastor Ndebele professed ignorance on the matter when he was contacted for comment.
“I don’t know anything about what you are saying. The fact is we are neighbours with these people, Mr and Mrs Khumbulani and nothing more,” he said.
The Midlands region Bishop for Baptist Churches, a Mr Moyo, declined to comment on the matter, saying the suspension of pastor Ndebele was a private church issue.
“I think that’s private church business. Besides, I don’t discuss such matters over the phone, thank you,” he said before cutting off the call.
Chief Bunina, however, confirmed that the matter had been reported at his court.at his court.
“The matter was supposed to have been heard at my court on Sunday but has been postponed to Thursday,” he said.
