35 year old man rapes 80 year grandmother as punishment for bewitching him

 

A 35-year-old man tied his grandmother's legs to her head before forcing himself on her as punishment after accusing her of bewitching him. The two are from Mbuyazwe Village along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road.

The man (name withheld) was hauled before Western Commonage magistrate, Shepherd Mjanja facing a charge of rape. The court heard that in the early hours of Sunday, the man proceeded to his grandmother's hut, a stone's throw away from his.

He then tried to open the door but an obstacle stood on his way as it had been tied.

He went on to untie it and gained entry. Inside he found the old timer in a deep slumber and pulled her blankets. It was heard that the man then got hold of his granny's legs which awoke her in the process.

The woman tried to scream but her grandson threatened her with death if she screamed. He then tied her legs to the head and went on to rape her. Thereafter, the man is reported to have taken a nap beside his grandmother.

He woke up minutes later and started accusing the old woman of bewitching him so he wanted to teach her a lesson.

The man is alleged to have raped her again. He took off afterwards leaving his grandmother still tied. The woman was discovered in the morning by her grandson's child who alerted her mother.

The granny narrated her ordeal after which she accompanied to police to make a report. She was referred to hospital for a medical check-up.

The man was remanded in custody to 8 November for plea recording.
